*I chose this artifact because not only did I find it adorable, but i think this would be a great idea to use when our students have a fight in the classroom. Is it realistic? no. But is it ideal? yes. I think we should be able to do this in our classrooms when our students can't get along nicely.
*I've learned that we as teachers aren't always going to be able to restore order in our classrooms, especially if there is an outbreak of a fight. We can however have a teachable moment and talk to the students about what it means to fight verbally or physically, remind them of the rules in the classroom, and ask them why it isn't right to do what had just happened. As a teacher, we wont always be able to bounce back to our lesson and pretend like nothing happened. |
*In order to restore order in the classroom, we can use Rogers theory of experiential learning because teachers and students are able to learn from what they have done in past experiences. If the teacher has done something that worked, they will want to use it again. If the student has done it before and had consequences thy might want to not do it again because they know what will happen based on experience.
