*The reason i chose two artifacts for this concept is because i really liked them both. I feel as though there are many different ways to get parents involved in the classroom but doing it with success is a key factor. From being in school, i feel as though children spend a lot of time with their mom's in the classroom and not so much time with their dads. In order to make this successful, teachers could have a dad time such as "donuts with dad". Another way to involve both parents is with something after school such as a food drive. Lots of parents work during the day, therefore it is important to involve them at other times. Having an after school food drive provides more opportunities for parents.
*I've learned that it is important to adapt to parents schedules because all children come from different backgrounds. You may have one parent that works days while another works nights. It is also important to do different things to get parents involved because they come from different backgrounds, religions, and socioeconomic status'.
*The theorist most aligned with this is Rogers and the theory of experiential learning because parents are contributing to the experiences their children are having based on real life. When they are participating in something like a food drive, students see that it can benefit the community they live in, therefore it relates to them. Since experiences shape our students it is important for them to be involved in projects such as these.
